Comprehensive Low Carbon Development Framework of BoL – Access and Mobility   ( 2014/09/24 )

Previously, we have mentioned the ‘Waste and Material’ strategies that BoL should adopt, and it’s time to talk about the transportation system. We hope BoL can provide a range of healthy, clean and affordable transportation options for visitors and residents.

There are a number of areas we should take into considerations, including to ensure there is sufficient transportation for visitors and residents to travel to and from BoL; to acknowledge the mobility of local residents within the project area; and to check whether the project can seamlessly incorporate into the existing transportation system. If so, there is a substantial decrease in the amount of infrastructure that needs to be built.

Key Solutions
Zero Emission Vehicles
  • Zero emission vehicles, such as electric vehicles
  • Private vehicles restricted, provide bus services to connect marina, residential and hotel areas
  • Provide onsite renewables energy charging facilities

Walking and Cycling Routes
  • In order to encourage active transportation, sufficient walking paths and cycling routes, sufficient bicycle parking spaces facilities and free bicycle pool to lend bikes for both holiday visitors and residents will be provided. Furthermore, walking and cycling routes will be connected to existing routes network in Lamma Island
  • By creating networks that is faster, cheaper and more convenient, more people will choose these green and healthy transportation options

Key Outcomes
