New Zealand’s Superyacht Visits on the Rise ( 2015/04/20 )
An article in the New Zealand Herald recently mentioned that the efforts of promotion of New Zealand as a destination for superyachts are being paid off. With the joint-effort of the industry and the government, New Zealand attracted 57 superyachts during the superyacht season (April 2014 - March 2015), a 54% increase when compared with last season. According to Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development’s Tourism Manager Jason Hill, each superyacht contributed more than NZD 1 million to the economy with each visit and in many cases more than NZD 5 million including spending on tourism and berthage and marine services.
With beautiful coastline and many outlying islands, there is no reason why Hong Kong cannot become a superyacht destination, as another new pillar of local economy. BoL is looking into promoting superyacht tourism in Hong Kong. Please visit here to know more. Source: Superyacht visits on the rise, The New Zealand Herald |
