Re-farming Campaign on Lamma 2015 – September   ( 2015/09/08 )

A new round of re-farming campaign has started!  The seedlings sowed in August has grown so fast, but was out-run by the weeds!  As a result, the tasks for the volunteers in September were weed clearance and footpath mending.  The rainy days in early September had made the activity even more challenging.

With the guidance from experts of Local Life, volunteers were assigned to different tasks.  Some of us were responsible for clearing the weed beside the seedlings in a distance with long bamboos, which was a challenge of strength and accuracy, while others were assigned to clear weed at other parts of the farmland and select the suitable weed to mend the footpath.  Furthermore, experts from Local Life also had trimmed the tree.

We will explore the natural habitats on Lamma aside from the regular farming work next month. Please visit here to learn more about our re-farming campaign last year.
