| The education sector and yachting industry in Singapore are joining hands to train up the next generation for the fast-developing industry.
Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore recently announced its collaboration with Tall Ship Adventures Pte Ltd, a local superyacht company, to provide local students with training and industry experience to develop their competencies in crewing, passenger handling and safety. According to Pela, Managing Director of Tall Ship Adventures, international superyacht industry is a burgeoning market and has plenty of career opportunities for people with the right skills and experience, and the training programme will provide participants the essential first step into the career. As mentioned in earlier passages, Hong Kong is providing sailing training to youth for competitions; however, yacht-related training is still lacking. There is much more to explore in the boating industry in Hong Kong and we better be fast to grasp the opportunity to develop our youth and companies to share the expanding pie of the yachting industry.
