Thailand: Proposing Law Changes for Yachting Tourism ( 2015/01/28 )
In line with Thai Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha’s aim to make Thailand a world-class hub for yachts and cruise boats in Southeast Asia, Tourism Minister Kobkarn is pushing for changing visa and chartering legislation to secure Phuket’s position as a top yachting destination.
Mr. Gulu Lavani, Chairman at the Royal Phuket Marina, welcomes the proposed changes and believes that changes can help bring Thailand more yacht owners and tourists, which can boost the local economy and establish Phuket as a yachting destination like the rest of the world.
