FAQ

EXISTING TOURISM DEVELOPMENT

Whether the existing hiking tours and eco-tours carried out from time to time in the vicinity of the Project site will be affected?

The proposed development at Tung O had purposely avoided impact on the existing footpath and woodland, hence the existing hiking tours and eco-tours carried out from time to time will not be affected.

The proposed Conservation Corridor will provide significantly more resources for hiking tours and eco-tours than is now. It also promotes eco-education and conservation of existing cultural heritage within and in the vicinity of the development site. In addition, the many “green initiatives” to be introduced to the development will add further dimensions to research and education activities, making the Project a “must visit” for general public of Hong Kong and visitors from all over the world.

With the Marina and the breakwater, which will act as artificial reef and fish sanctuary, we anticipate there will be significant enhancement to the marine resources within and around the marina. Together with the proposed Marine Research Centre at Sham Wan, the feasibility of setting up a marine park at southern Lamma will be enhanced.
